Job Title: Part-Time Bookkeeper

Location: Sittingbourne

Job Type: Part-time, Permanent

Pay: £15.00-£16.00 per hour

Expected Hours: Minimum 16 hours per week

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process payments, invoices, income, and receipts accurately using Xero and Lightyear.
  • Prepare monthly financial statements, including income and expenditure reports.
  • Manage weekly vendor payments and monitor bank account balances.
  • Collaborate on stock management
  • Complete monthly VAT returns accurately and on time.
  • Liaise with accountants to verify accounts and reconcile discrepancies.
  • Ensure accurate and timely payroll processing.
  • Assist in developing financial statements, including cash flow projections.
  • Support daily accounting and administrative tasks for smooth business operations.
  • Assist accountants with administrative duties and prepare yearly accounts.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Accounting Qualifications: AAT qualification or equivalent.
  • Experience: Proven bookkeeping experience, particularly in accruals, income recognition, and VAT returns.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong data accuracy and consistency.
  • Mathematical Ability: Competency in arithmetic for accurate financial records.
  • Administrative Skills: Experience in managing financial records.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficient in Microsoft Office, Google Sheets, Xero, and Lightyear.
  • Multi-tasking & Organisational Skills: Ability to manage tasks efficiently and meet deadlines.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Collaborative with clear communication.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to explain financial matters simply.
