We are seeking a dedicated School Caretaker to join a vibrant secondary school in Maidstone for a temporary period of 6 weeks. This role is crucial in ensuring the smooth operation of the school by maintaining a safe and functional environment for all staff and students.
Day-to-day of the role:- Conduct general maintenance tasks throughout the school premises to ensure all facilities are in good working order.
- Regularly inspect, identify, and resolve any safety hazards to maintain compliance with health and safety standards.
- Respond promptly to repair requests and coordinate with external contractors when necessary.
- Assist in setting up facilities for school events and rearranging furniture as required.
- Monitor the security of the school premises, especially during opening and closing times.
- Proven experience in maintenance, facilities management, or a similar role.
- Strong understanding of health and safety regulations within a school environment.
- Ability to handle and operate maintenance equipment and tools safely.
- Enhanced DBS check (required due to the nature of the role involving work in a school setting).
- Practical problem-solving skills and a can-do attitude.
- Good physical condition to manage manual tasks and walking around large premises.
