Are you an experienced Mechanical/Plumbing Estimator looking for a new challenge?

Our client, a family-run business based in Sittingbourne, is seeking a skilled Estimator to join our growing team. This role is ideal for a highly experienced professional with a strong background in residential projects, particularly high-rise and design-and-build schemes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare multiple detailed Mechanical/Plumbing estimates for residential projects ranging from £5-30 million.
  • Hold meetings with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.
  • Assist with labour histograms, draft programmes, cash flow forecasts, material schedules, and procurement schedules.
  • Collaborate with the Electrical Estimation Team to provide joint bids.
  • Review specifications, schematics, and drawings.
  • Prepare accurate cost estimates and take-offs, keeping up to date with material and labour costs.
  • Negotiate deals with suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Support the contracts manager, commercial team, and supervisors on live projects.
  • Experience with Quickscale and Extreme Estimating software is preferred but not essential.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of three years experience as an estimator
  • Must have experience in the high-rise residential sector, design and build schemes
  • Experience using software such as Quickscale and Extreme Estimating preferred but not essential
  • Strong understanding of drawings, specifications, and industry standards
  • Excellent analytical and mathematical skills
  • Effective communication and negotiation skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines
