Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical/Plumbing Estimator to join a family run business. This is an office-based position with site visits when necessary. You will work Monday to Friday 8am - 5pm.

Key Responsibilities

  • Preparing multiple detailed Mechanical/Plumbing estimates for residential projects ranging from £5-30 Million
  • Hold meetings with clients, suppliers and subcontractors
  • Aid with preparing Labour Histograms, draft programs, cash flow forecasts, material schedules and procurement schedules etc
  • Collaborating with the Electrical Estimation Team to provide joint bids
  • Reviewing Specifications, Schematics and drawings
  • Prepare accurate cost estimates and take offs, keeping updated with the price of materials, labour etc
  • Negotiate deals with Suppliers and Subcontractors
  • Help support the contracts manager, commercial team and supervisors with live projects

Requirements

  • Must have experience in the high-rise residential sector, design and build schemes
  • Experience using software such as Quickscale and Extreme Estimating preferred but not essential
  • Strong understanding of drawings, specifications, and industry standards
  • Excellent analytical and mathematical skills
  • Effective communication and negotiation skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines
