Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Mechanical/Plumbing Estimator to join a family run business. This is an office-based position with site visits when necessary. You will work Monday to Friday 8am - 5pm.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparing multiple detailed Mechanical/Plumbing estimates for residential projects ranging from £5-30 Million
- Hold meetings with clients, suppliers and subcontractors
- Aid with preparing Labour Histograms, draft programs, cash flow forecasts, material schedules and procurement schedules etc
- Collaborating with the Electrical Estimation Team to provide joint bids
- Reviewing Specifications, Schematics and drawings
- Prepare accurate cost estimates and take offs, keeping updated with the price of materials, labour etc
- Negotiate deals with Suppliers and Subcontractors
- Help support the contracts manager, commercial team and supervisors with live projects
Requirements
- Must have experience in the high-rise residential sector, design and build schemes
- Experience using software such as Quickscale and Extreme Estimating preferred but not essential
- Strong understanding of drawings, specifications, and industry standards
- Excellent analytical and mathematical skills
- Effective communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines
