Housing Triage Officer

Large Housing Organisation - Based in Sittingbourne

On-going contract

MAIN ACCOUNTABILITY'S

  • To be the first point of contact for those that are homeless, threatened with homelessness and those with other general housing enquiries.
  • To manage all customer contact methods including telephone, post, responding to emails and online enquiries and referrals and enquiries from other professionals.
  • To establish from the customer the basic reason for contact, accurately record this information and determine which is the appropriate team to refer the query to.

  • Ensure any safeguarding concerns are dealt with in the appropriate way in accordance with policy and procedures.

  • To ensure the customer's full details are recorded timely and accurately, and include all relevant information needed, including ensuring the customer is aware of the information they will need to provide.
  • Requesting relevant information/documents from members of the public as part of their housing application and process once received.
  • Ensure all required customer monitoring is carried out and all required systems are updated.
  • To support other members of the housing team with admin tasks as required.

Attributes

A good level of knowledge of Microsoft packages including Excel, Word, and Outlook

A good level of verbal and written skills, with the ability to communicate with members of the public and professionals at the required level.

A basic knowledge of safeguarding policies and procedures.
