Environmental and Sustainability Coordinator

Join a family-run business with over 140 years of history in manufacturing, based in Sittingbourne, Kent. We are looking for an Environmental and Sustainability Coordinator who is passionate about making a difference and contributing to a friendly and driven team.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Drive external and internal audits related to environmental and sustainability.
  • Maintain up-to-date figures for external reportables such as WRAP, Sedex, BRC, and Manufacture 2030.
  • Keep the company's COSHH records and assessments up to date.
  • Develop and manage the company's business continuity plan.
  • Liaise with management across the team to identify and improve environmental and sustainability processes.
  • Coordinate and manage the company's waste management.
  • Create and implement environmental or sustainability policies and procedures.
  • Conduct environmental and sustainability risk assessments or impact assessments for the business.
  • Prioritise workloads and work independently or as part of a team.
  • Create reportable figures for the business and keep up to date with legislation and regulatory changes regarding environmental and sustainability.
  • Support or chair environmental and sustainability meetings or committee meetings.
  • Advise and support the business with environmental and sustainability information.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Background in Health & Safety management.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of Environmental and Sustainable Management.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Experience in compiling and presenting presentations to groups and key stakeholders.
  • Must hold A-C GCSE grades in Mathematics and English or equivalent.
  • Ideally holds the NEBOSH Environmental Management qualification or similar, or willingness to attain this qualification.
  • Passionate about supporting continuous improvement.
  • Must be an excellent communicator at all levels and via written, verbal, and face-to-face methods.
