Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer

Job Type: Full-time, permanent. 40 hrs per week – 4 days only per week (Monday-Thursday & Tuesday-Friday) 3-day weekend!

Salary: £42,000, rising to £44,000 + 1.5 overtime

We are seeking a Multi-Skilled Engineer to join a long-established, family-run business. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the reliability of manufacturing equipment, site services, and facilities across multiple sites. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, this role is crucial in ensuring the smooth operation of our production lines and the continuous improvement of our factory and plant operations.

Day-to-day of the Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer role:

  • Respond effectively to mechanical and electrical breakdowns across multiple sites.
  • Collaborate with production staff to minimize machinery issues, providing realistic timescales and updates on the progress of each breakdown.
  • Maintain Preventive Maintenance (PPM) schedules in line with current requirements.
  • Identify and implement improvements to enhance factory and plant operations.
  • Uphold high standards of quality, food safety, and health & safety for products, self, and others.
  • Participate in project management and contribute to energy saving and waste reduction initiatives.
  • Train staff in areas of expertise and support production in setting up production lines for quick changeovers.

Required Skills & Qualifications of the Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer:

  • Proven experience as a Multi-Skilled Engineer in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
  • Knowledge of PPM schedules and experience in maintaining them.
  • Commitment to quality, food safety, and health & safety standards.
  • Project management skills and a proactive approach to continuous improvement.
