I’m excited to announce a fantastic new vacancy for a Packaging Manager! 

Company Overview: an innovative service provider operating primarily within the Fresh Produce sector in the UK. Role Details:

  • Position: Packaging Manager
  • Location: Multi-Site across Kent. Sittingbourne: Home site
  • Salary: £55,000 per annum
  • Work Schedule: Full-time, Monday to Friday

Role Summary: To lead the development of compliant, efficient, and sustainable packaging across our customer base.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategy Development: Define and implement the Group and packaging strategy to enable scalable, market-leading innovation.
  •  Compliance: Align priorities to support changes in UK packaging legislation and customer requirements.
  •  Supplier Management: Build and manage strategic relationships with packaging suppliers and waste management handlers.
  •  Process Management: Lead the packaging development process from inception to launch, ensuring all new and existing product development is fit for purpose.
  •  Collaboration: Build strategic relationships with retailer packaging teams and manage the packaging supplier and material specification approval processes.
  •  Performance Monitoring: Track, monitor, and report on the impact of packaging development and innovation.
  •  Sustainability: Identify and implement packaging improvements to drive cost and environmental efficiency.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Good report writing skills
  • Competency in MS Office
  • A minimum of 5 years in food packaging development
  • Experience bringing packaging innovation to market
  • Recent experience working with major food retailers

Key Deliverables:

  • Deliver sustainable packaging initiatives
  • Support training programs for team members
  • Identify and implement cost-saving measures in packaging materials
  • Ensure 100% compliance with packaging regulations
  • Lead cross-functional teams to develop and launch new packaging designs
  • Research and propose innovative packaging technologies
  • Perform market trend analysis to inform packaging strategies
