Our Client are a leading supplier of Aluminium and Magnesium castings for the aerospace and defence industries. They are currently looking for an experienced, conscientious individual to run and manage our heat treatment department to ensure all our castings are processed in accordance with the relevant Material specifications and meet the appropriate mechanical property requirements.

Role Responsibilities

  • Carry out heat treatment processes such as solution, quenching and ageing of various alloys.
  • Set up and operate heat treatment furnaces, ovens, and quenching equipment according to technical specifications and work instructions.
  • Monitor and control temperature, time, and other settings to achieve desired material properties and complete the appropriate records.
  • Ensure proper loading, unloading, and racking of components to prevent distortion and defects.
  • Ensure that castings that are susceptible to warping and distortion are straightened within the allotted time before completing the heat treatment cycle.
  • Ensure all calibration of all equipment is undertaken and up to date.
  • Ensure that system accuracy tests and temperature uniformity surveys are carried out in accordance with the procedures and schedules.

Candidate Requirements

  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment is essential.
  • Knowledge of metal treatment would be highly advantageous.
  • Highly numerate.
  • Hardworking.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Safety Conscious.

Hours: 7.30am - 4.00pm Monday - Thursday, 7.30am - 1.30pm FridayLocation: Sittingbourne
