Job Overview:

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Qualified Nursery Practitioner to join our nurturing team in Sittingbourne. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a love for working with children, creating a fun and safe learning environment, and contributing to the development of young minds.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Childcare & Development: Provide high-quality care, education, and supervision to children aged 0-5 years. Support children’s learning and development through play-based activities, ensuring they reach their full potential.
  • Planning & Observation: Regularly observe and assess children’s progress in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework. Develop and implement individual learning plans to support each child’s development.
  • Safety & Well-being: Ensure the safety and well-being of children at all times, following safeguarding and health & safety protocols. Actively promote a safe, happy, and inclusive environment.
  • Communication: Build strong relationships with children, parents, and colleagues. Provide regular updates to parents on their child’s progress and well-being.
  • Teamwork & Support: Collaborate with team members to maintain a positive working atmosphere and share best practices. Offer support and guidance to junior staff and apprentices where necessary.
  • Professional Development: Commit to continuous professional development by attending training sessions and keeping up-to-date with the latest childcare practices and legislation.
Qualifications & Requirements:
  • Level 3 Qualification in Childcare (or equivalent) - this is essential.
  • Experience: Previous experience working in a nursery or childcare setting is desirable.
  • Knowledge of EYFS: A sound understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage and child development.
  • Passion for Childcare: A caring, patient, and enthusiastic individual with a genuine passion for working with young children.
  • Safeguarding: A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • DBS Check: A valid Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
  • First Aid Training: Paediatric First Aid qualification (or willingness to undergo training).
