CUSTOMS MANAGER

Role Summary:

Responsibility for the overall Customs Handling and HMRC Clearance of Deep-Sea Containers & Road Freight, together with management of Container transportation and POs data management in the internal MRP system.

Ensure containers delivered in appropriate timeframes to ensure no demurrage charges applies.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Engage in effective and efficient communication to set all expectations with customers, vendors, shippers, carriers, and all involved parties throughout the process.
  • Communicate and Liaise with Warehouse Team weekly and daily plan regarding container arrivals.
  • Create container arrival folders containing all necessary HMRC Customs Handling documentation.
  • Create and maintain Prophet Arrival Planner (Purchase Orders) for Warehouse, maintain POs data and proceed with any amendments where required.
  • Plan potential arrivals according to Shipment Schedulers and Customer needs.
  • Verify key data elements for entry in adherence to federal/international regulations.
  • Complete “Peach” Applications
  • Complete HMRC CHIEF Declarations (Road Freight)
  • Manage and Liaise with Customs Clearance Agencies / Institutions.
  • Manage and liaise with shipment companies approved container collections.
  • Manage and liaise with transport companies’ daily arrivals.
  • Manage and liaise with accounts department – Custom Clearance & Transportation Charges
  • Update Purchase orders with clearance related invoices
