About the Role:

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced professional to take the next step in their career, supporting the Technical Manager in ensuring compliance with food safety and quality standards. This role offers the chance to deputise for the Technical Manager, working proactively to enhance food safety systems and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Technical Manager in maintaining and improving food safety and quality systems.
  • Assist in the implementation and continuous improvement of Quality and Food Safety policies and procedures.
  • Conduct customer standards/code of practice gap analyses and ensure compliance.
  • Identify and close internal gaps within business operations.
  • Ensure BRCGS Food Safety compliance and assist with audits.
  • Conduct and update Risk Assessments regularly.
  • Approve and review product artwork to meet compliance standards.
  • Plan and conduct process audits to ensure food safety and quality.
  • Lead customer and third-party audits and assist in non-conformance resolution.
  • Deputise for the Technical Manager when required, including leading incident and crisis management.
  • Carry out project work as directed by senior management.

About You:

The ideal candidate will be an assertive, detail-oriented, and proactive professional with a strong background in the food manufacturing industry. You will be passionate about driving food safety and quality improvements while maintaining compliance with industry standards.

Requirements:

  • Degree in a food-related subject.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the food manufacturing industry.
  • Strong experience with BRCGS and multiple retailer standards.
  • Proven ability to conduct BRC audits and internal audits.
  • Food Hygiene Certificate (required).
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.

Additional Information:

  • Location: Sittingbourne, Kent (must be able to reliably commute).
  • Hours: 8:00 am - 4:30 pm (Monday to Friday).
  • Work Mode: On-site.
