We are seeking a dedicated Outdoor Learning Teaching Assistant to join our vibrant and inclusive school community. Our school is committed to delivering exceptional education and ensuring that every student has the opportunity to succeed. As a Outdoor Learning Teaching Assistant, you will provide essential support to students with special educational needs, working collaboratively with the Outdoor Learning Teacher to foster a nurturing and inclusive learning environment.

Day to day of the role:

  • Offer one-to-one support to students with SEND, facilitating their participation and engagement during lessons.
  • Work in partnership with the teacher to create and implement individualised learning strategies and accommodations.
  • Assist in managing  behaviour, promoting positive interactions and a supportive atmosphere.
  • Maintain detailed records of student progress and collaborate effectively with the teaching team to monitor development.
  • Support with all outdoor learning activities such as fishing, cycling, sports etc.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Previous experience working with children or young people with SEND is desirable but not essential.
  • A patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach to supporting students with diverse needs.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team.
  • A commitment to upholding principles of equality and diversity in education.
  • A valid DBS check or willingness to obtain one.
