Procurement Manager
Location: Sittingbourne
Salary: 40,000 - 45,000.

Our client is a well-established manufacturing business who has been operating for over 40 years, within the ventilation and passive fire protection industry sectors. Throughout the years they have undertaken large scale projects and are constantly innovating and expanding.
Position Overview:
The position of Procurement Manager within our client's business is a new role. As Procurement Manager, you will play a vital role and will be responsible for overseeing and managing the company's procurement activities to ensure cost efficiency, timely delivery, and quality standards are met. This role will play a critical part in supporting the business's ongoing innovation and expansion.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement procurement strategies to support the company's operational and project needs.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising on quality or compliance.
- Create and implement standard operating procedures for Procurement and Stores.
- Source and evaluate suppliers, negotiating contracts to secure favourable terms.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure continuity of supply and long-term partnerships.
- Monitor supplier performance and address issues related to quality, delivery, or pricing.
- Ensure timely procurement of materials and components required for manufacturing processes and large-scale projects.
- Collaborate with the production and project teams to forecast material requirements and manage inventory levels effectively.
- Manage procurement budgets and track expenses to align with financial objectives.
- Analyse market trends and pricing to optimise purchasing decisions.
- Ensure all procurement activities comply with relevant regulations, standards, and company policies.
- Identify and mitigate risks related to supply chain disruptions.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders, including design, manufacturing, and project management teams, to align procurement activities with business objectives.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Procurement Manager or similar role within the manufacturing or construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of procurement processes, supplier management, and contract negotiation.
- Excellent analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in using procurement software and Microsoft Office tools.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Desirable:
- Professional qualifications such as CIPS (Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply).
