The Role - Product Manager Stone Fruits

We are currently recruiting for a Product Manager in Stone Fruits to support our client a Fresh Produce Business within their Commercial, Technical and Procurement Team to maintain relationships between growers and suppliers ensuring products sourced and supplied meet products specifications

The Person

Suitable candidates must have worked previously as a product manager or in a quality control environment for a minimum of 2 years to have a good quality understanding of fresh produce

Key Responsibilities

  • Working independently but in partnership with the service provider - highlight quality issues and identify areas for improvement.
  • Assist in management of salads though the facility
  • Organize samples and trials on behalf of our client and if required be involved with any trials / and sampling of new varieties or packaging.
  • Engage with any customer site visits as required.
  • Manage and monitor on site shelf for all products reporting any failures back to the Technical Manager.
  • Take active involvement in decision making in the daily production meeting, weekly availability meeting and weekly senior team meeting.
  • Effectively liaise and communicate on day to day quality issues with service provider
  • Project a positive image to colleagues, site workers, customers, and suppliers in all interactions
  • Deputize for your colleague / s at times of absence, holiday etc.
  • Ensure regular and ongoing feedback to suppliers and onsite colleagues on product quality to allow for continuous improvement.
  • Effectively liaise and communicate on day-to-day quality issues with Production where required.
  • Effectively liaise and communicate on day-to-day quality issues with the Commercial, Packaging, Compliance, Technical and Product Management Teams where required.
  • Report any hygiene, machine, or other site concerns to the service provider production manager.
  • Ensure that the customers required quality standards are understood and effectively maintained and communicated.
  • Through continuous improvement facilitate and support the development of improvement processes to deliver improved KPI performance
