Role Overview
Working closely with cross-functional teams, as part of the production leadership team, you will manage the health & safety team effectively, driving conformance with all relevant legislation and codes of practice. Health & Safety Manager Key Responsibilities
- Preparing the site for future growth and continuous improvement by implementing proactive, autonomous, and professional maintenance systems, processes, and procedures to enhance manufacturing capabilities
- Monitor equipment performance using Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and identify opportunities for continuous improvement
- Develop, communicate, and implement a comprehensive maintenance strategy that aligns with business needs, including full CMMS integration
- Coordinate maintenance and cleaning schedules to ensure operational efficiency
- Oversee the procurement and stock management of all maintenance equipment
- Build strong working relationships with Operators and Line Technicians, while leading weekly Maintenance Improvement Meetings
- Manage budgetary controls and ensure the weekly P&L aligns with, and exceeds, budgetary expectations
Health & Safety Manager Key Requirements
- Proven experience in a fast-paced food or fresh produce production environment, with a strong track record in managing a Health & Safety team
- Relevant qualifications in Health & Safety, as well as electrical or mechanical disciplines
- Expertise in PUWER assessments and management
- Strong IT skills, along with proficiency in spoken and written English
This role is based in Kent, overseeing multiple sites across the region.
