Fostering Supervising Social Worker

Location: Sittingbourne, Kent

Salary: £32,000 - £38,000 per annum (Depending On Experience)

Our client is a small family run fostering agency based in Kent. They provide high quality care and support to children and young people. They pride themselves on fostering a nurturing, supportive environment for both the children in their care and the families who provide the care. Their team is passionate about delivering the best outcomes for all.

The Role

They are looking for a passionate and experienced supervising social worker to join their close-knit team, this is a fantastic opportunity for someone who shares their values and is committed to supporting foster families and ensure that children thrive in their placement. As a supervising social worker, you will be responsible for providing professional support and supervision to a small caseload (No more than 10 families) of foster carers, helping them to deliver the highest standards of care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct monthly home visits to assess and supervise foster carers, ensuring that placements meet the needs of the children and align with the agencies policies and procedures.
  • Provide guidance, training, and advice to foster carers, helping them manage challenges and improve the care they provide.
  • Monitor and assess the progress of children in their foster placements, ensuring their emotional, educational, and developmental needs are met.
  • complete foster carer reviews and other relevant documentation.
  • Work closely with other professionals, including local authorities, social workers, and educational providers to ensure the best outcome to the children in care.
  • Participate in on call support as part of a rota.
  • Contribute to fostering panel and support the ongoing development of the agencies fostering service.

The Person

They are seeking a qualified social worker preferably with experience of fostering and child protection. You must be a confident communicator with excellent organisation skills and clear understanding of child safeguarding. They are particularly interested in candidates who are passionate about providing the best care and support to foster families.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential:

  • A degree in social work qualification (CQSW DipSW or equivalent)
  • HCPC registration
  • Full UK driving license and access to a car
