We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated SEN Teacher to join our primary school team in Swale. This role offers an immediate start and involves working during general school hours. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality education tailored to the needs of students with a range of special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
Day-to-day of the role:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver lessons that cater to the needs of students with various learning difficulties and disabilities.
- Assess individual learning needs and work on a group and one-to-one basis as necessary.
- Implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and monitor students’ progress.
- Collaborate with other teachers, parents, and specialists to maximize student outcomes.
- Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet the interests and abilities of students.
- Manage classroom behavior and maintain a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
- Experience working as an SEN Teacher or in a similar role within a primary educational setting.
- Strong understanding of the strategies needed to establish a safe, inclusive, and stimulating environment for pupils with SEN.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with staff, parents, and external agencies.
- Patience, creativity, and a passion for teaching with a commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
