We are currently seeking a skilled and compassionate SEN Teacher to join our sixth form team in Swale. This is a full-time position with an immediate start, ideal for a professional who is passionate about making a difference in the lives of students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) at the sixth form level.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Develop and deliver tailored lesson plans that meet the educational needs of sixth form students with various learning difficulties and disabilities.
  • Implement and update Individual Education Plans (IEPs) to monitor and record progress.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff, parents, and external support services to ensure a cohesive approach to student education and welfare.
  • Adapt teaching methods and resources to suit the needs of individual students, ensuring accessibility and engagement.
  • Manage classroom behavior and maintain a positive, supportive, and inclusive learning environment.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification, ideally with a focus on special education.
  • Experience working as an SEN Teacher within a sixth form or similar setting.
  • Strong understanding of the specific needs of sixth form students with SEN.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with staff, parents, and external agencies.
