Many are referred by Local Authorities and hold Educational Health and Care Plans, while others are at risk of permanent exclusion from mainstream education. Role Overview:

As an Outreach Tutor, you will work one-on-one with students in their homes, focusing on low ability maths and literacy. Your role will involve:

  • Tutoring students with diverse needs, including autism.
  • Supporting multiple subjects, particularly functional skills in maths and English.
  • Building strong relationships to encourage and motivate students towards achieving qualifications and reintegrating into mainstream education.
  • Collaborating with a team of Outreach Tutors to share resources and strategies, minimizing planning time.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with young people, particularly those with learning difficulties.
  • Ability to work independently and adapt to individual student needs.
  • A current DBS check on the update service or dated within the last year.
  • A valid driving license, as travel to students’ homes is required.
