VGC Group Lowestoft are recruiting for a Project Engineer (M&E) for our client based on Sizewell B.  

 

This role is initially offered on a contract basis, with the view of being a permanent employee.

 

As a Project Engineer, your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

 

  • Monitor delivery of the project, identifying risk and opportunities.
  • Work with key stakeholders to optimise project delivery.
  • Assess the 'constructability' of the proposed design, ensuring the design teams produce feasible designs within required timescales.
  • Lead the delivery of construction works, ensuring compliance with all company processes and protocols. 
  • Review and approve contractor documents as delegated by Project Manager
  • Support and develop the supervisory and engineering team, and support project steering groups/cross discipline action groups, as required.
  • Perform up front site surveys including liaising with designers.
  • Proofread and approves drawings.
  • Where appropriate, act as point of contact for site related project issues.

 

The successful candidate will have:

 

  • Practical understanding of services discipline associated with the role this being EC&I bias.
  • HNC/HND qualifications in either Electrical or C&I discipline (Advantageous, although not essential).
  • Experience in the management of a wide range of construction operations, including phasing and contingency planning, together with testing and handover.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to provide expert technical knowledge to support work winning. 
  • Substantial experience within H&S Management in an operational setting, including method statements, accident/incident. investigation, knowledge of current HSE and CDM legislation and proficiency in the use of H&S Management.
