This role involves working closely with the Finance Director to manage day-to-day payment functions and maintain the confidentiality and security of financial data. The ideal candidate will be adept at multitasking, possess excellent numeracy and organisational skills, and be capable of working independently in a busy environment.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Carry out the payment function for the company, ensuring all transactions are processed accurately.
  • Liaise with colleagues and third parties effectively, both in person and by telephone.
  • Maintain high levels of confidentiality and security concerning the company’s financial data.
  • Support and assist colleagues by providing training on accounting procedures when needed.
  • Participate actively in the company’s training and development programme to enhance professional growth.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 2 years experience as an Accounts Clerk.
  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge in:
    • Processing client and office payments, including office account transfers.
    • Bank reconciliation.
    • Managing residual client account balances.
    • Handling counsel, expert, and third-party invoices.
    • Calculating interest.
    • Addressing fee earner queries and requests.
  • Proficiency with accounting software.
  • Experience with annual audit and inspection processes.
  • Strong understanding of accountancy rules and regulations, money laundering regulations, and data protection.
  • Demonstrable knowledge and experience of working with Microsoft Office packages.
