An exciting company in Skelmersdale is on the hunt for a skilled and hands-on Management Accountant to join their tight-knit finance team.
This role is all about rolling up your sleeves and taking ownership of key financial tasks-preparing accounts up to trial balance, handling journal entries, and keeping on top of bank reconciliations. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain financial records up to trial balance.
- Accurately record, review, and post journal entries.
- Conduct monthly and periodic bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy of financial data.
- Assist in the preparation of management accounts, including variance analysis and commentary.
- Collaborate with the finance team to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Monitor and analyse financial data to identify trends, discrepancies, or areas requiring action.
- Support the preparation of budgets and forecasts.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal policies.
- Provide assistance during audits by preparing documentation and responding to queries.
- Maintain accurate and organized records for all financial transactions and reconciliations.
Qualifications and Skills
- Proven experience as a Management Accountant or in a similar accounting role.
- Proficiency in accounting software (Sage 200) and Advanced Microsoft Excel.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and standards.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
