Job Summary

Support the QA group with evaluation, performance testing and release of material and to assist with the Quality Management System by performing tasks such as those set out below.

Also required is a cursory knowledge of basic quality systems such as Quality Manuals, ISO-9000, MBNQ, metrology, calibration, audits; demonstrated proficiency in the use of basic statistical tools such as exploratory data analysis, basic statistics, Gage R&R

Analysis of Variance, Failure Modes and Effects Analysis, Statistical Process Control and Capability; a good working knowledge of intermediate-level statistical and quality engineering tools such as acceptance sampling, correlation and regression, and experimental design; and an awareness of more advanced statistical tools such as response surface designs, modeling, and optimization. The role is manufacturing/quality, this experience is a requirement of the role

Job Responsibilities

  • Assumes responsibility for initiating and performing defined quality activities leading to new or improved processes or systems on a program level.
  • Reports to a quality supervisor or senior technical individual.
  • Production support, attending Tier 2 meetings to address supplier quality issues.
  • Investigate customer complaints.
  • Assembly and Testing, working on testing procedures
  • Works with moderate work direction and can identify issues/problems but may need assistance in resolving.
  • Works on a variety of new touch screen technologies and related products, the selected individual may perform product and system design verification testing for functional compliance, performance, reliability, usability, operation under stress, and environmental limits - including compatibility testing with controllers and customer simulation testing.
  • On a variety of new touch systems products (controllers, touch screens, etc.) may perform various product qualification activities including running product qualifications and experiments, set up and monitoring automated test equipment, and writing test reports and procedures.
  • Following a Design Verification Test Plan and department procedures may perform electronic hardware and system design verification testing for functional compliance, performance, reliability, usability, operation under stress, and environmental limits.
  • Will record and organize test results and issue test reports.
  • Will be responsible for test routines, test schedules, equipment characterization, first level failure analysis, collecting and processing test data and reporting.
  • Must follow established test procedures.
  • Operate and maintain lab equipment and environmental test systems.
  • Work independently and with Quality Assurance and development engineers /technicians.

Experience/Education:

  • Familiarity with test equipment such as environmental chambers, microscopes, etc.
  • Familiarity with typical PC software applications including Excel, Word, etc.
  • Familiarity with Windows Operating System.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Basic understanding of digital logic circuits, interfaces, and analog electronics principles.
  • Familiarity with test equipment such as scopes, logic and bus analyzers, PC based testers.
  • Experience in the use and tear down of computers.
  • Must be able to install, configure and perform hardware test routines on computer systems.
  • Basic understanding of PC video systems.
  • Proficiency with typical PC software applications including Excel, Word, etc.
  • Familiarity with Windows operating systems.
  • Working knowledge of touch screen technologies
