Overview: Working alongside our client, a leading 1st tier automotive supplier & manufacturer, we are looking for an experienced Quality Engineer to join their team.

Remit:

  • As a Quality Engineer you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and integrity of the companies products from initial stages of design throughout production
  • Maintaining adherence to industry standards you will work closely with cross-functional teams and customers to maintain high-quality engineering practices
  • This position will suit an experienced Quality Engineer with a background in automotive manufacturing and prior knowledge of the JLR PPAP process (preferred)

Role:

  • To work on and act as quality representative for NPI programmes
  • Actively participate in customer project review meetings, providing updates and addressing any quality concerns
  • Prepare and submit necessary PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) documentation, including PFMEA (Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) and Control Plans to meet customer requirements
  • Verify the dimensions and quality of trial samples to ensure they meet product specifications and standards
  • Assist in the submission process for build samples, ensuring compliance with customer requirements and quality standards
  • Conduct IMDS (International Material Data System) submissions to ensure material compliance with customer and regulatory standards
  • Lead discussions for customer AAR (After Action Review) approval to ensure product quality and compliance

Experience Requirements:

  • Apprentice trained with HND/Bachelors Degree (or equivalent) in Engineering or related discipline
  • Appropriate automotive 1st tier experience
  • Knowledge of JLR PPAP arrival process would be preferable
  • Strong knowledge of PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plans, and IMDS
  • Experience leading customer AAR approval discussions is beneficial
  • Experience with relevant industry standards (ISO9001 & IATF16949)
  • A good level of GD&T
  • Understanding of customer drawings
  • Ability to interpret data accurately
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Good working knowledge of Plastic injection moulding and paint processes
