gap technical are proud to be representing this global manufacturing business in their search for a CAD/CAM Engineer / Designer to work at their facility based near Skelmersdale

Performance Objectives

  • Create and develop 2D and 3D CAD designs based on technical specifications and customer requirements.
  • Generate and optimise CNC programs using CAM software for precision machining.
  • Collaborate with engineers and production teams to ensure designs meet quality and manufacturing standards.
  • Download and control Data in/out SET.
  • Analyse new ECR requests against existing Data.
  • Create drawings.
  • Generate cutter paths. / Power shape.
  • Review and modify existing designs to enhance performance and efficiency.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve design-related issues in collaboration with production staff.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of designs, drawings, and production processes.

Person Specification

  • 5+ years' experience in a CAD/CAM Operator role within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
  • Injection mould experience essential.
  • 3D Solid modelling experience.
  • Proficiency in industry-standard CAD software (such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or Fusion 360).
  • Experience with CAM programming and CNC machining processes.
  • Strong understanding of materials, manufacturing techniques, and engineering principles.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and keen attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
