Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer

Monday - Friday, 6am - 2pm, 2pm - 10pm with earlier finishes on a Friday

My client are a global company that manufacture a variety of products worldwide. They now have an opening at their manufacturing site in the Northwest in their maintenance engineering team, for multi-skilled engineer to join them, working on several automated assembly lines lines with PLCs.

About the Role

Joining a small team on shift, responsibilities include:

  • Improving the overall reliability and performance of plant, personnel and production equipment and processes
  • Ensuring production targets are met, optimising output & minimising defects
  • Providing production line support in line with company goals and objectives
  • Tracking and reporting of process improvement results
  • Preventive maintenance
  • Equipment breakdown repairs
  • Establishing process conditions
  • In-line quality checks
  • Process monitoring and controlling according to Statistical Process Control (SPC) method
  • Analysing data to fault find and developing prioritised improvement plans for the platform
  • Maintaining and developing the delivery of finished products in line with cost, quality and production schedule requirements

There will be opportunity to work on continuous improvement projects to overall improve reliability and output.

About You

To apply, you should demonstrate the following qualifications:

  • First accomplished technical production support experience.
  • Electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, servo controls PLC fault finding

Personal characteristics that would help you succeed even further in this role include:

  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work with staff at differing levels of the organisation
  • Team player
  • Versatile and a self-starter

It's preferable to have qualification to Electrical: 18th Edition wiring regs but this can be trained.

Experience of robotics (ABB preferred), including experience of automated assembly production lines would also be an advantage but not a pre-requisite
