Scope:Our client is a globally recognised leader in innovation and manufacturing. To support its operations, they are seeking a skilled MechanicalMaintenance Engineer to join its manufacturing plant in Skelmersdale. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where you will contribute to the reliability and performance of production equipment and processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Enhance plant reliability and optimise production equipment performance.
  • Track and report process improvement results.
  • Ensure production targets are met by maximising efficiency and minimising defects.
  • Provide hands-on production line support in line with company goals.
  • Carry out preventive maintenance and equipment breakdown repairs.
  • Monitor and control processes using Statistical Process Control (SPC).
  • Analyse data to diagnose faults and develop improvement plans.
  • Maintain high standards for cost, quality, and production schedules.
  • Promote and prioritise health and safety awareness.
  • Train and mentor staff in a constructive and approachable manner.
  • Develop strong relationships with key business stakeholders.
  • Gather and share best practices internally and externally.

About You:

  • Apprentice training or qualification in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Experience in mechanical, pneumatic fault finding.
  • Knowledge of high-pressure air systems (advantageous).
  • Ability to read technical drawings and follow SOPs.

Working Hours:

    • Monday - Thursday: 7:50 am - 4:45 pm
    • Friday: 7:50 am - 12:10 pm
