About the Role:
Due to our continued growth and expansion, we are introducing an exciting opportunity for a Road Groupage Business Development Manager to join our team. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will play a key role in leading our sales and business development strategy, driving revenue growth, and expanding our customer base.
This is a strategic, hands-on role where you will be responsible for building strong relationships with both potential and existing customers while supporting your team to achieve sales targets and deliver excellent service. You will also be instrumental in identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, while working closely with senior management to ensure alignment with the company's broader objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sales Leadership: Drive sales performance across the business, ensuring that the team consistently achieves targets and maximizes revenue potential.
- Client Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with new and existing customers, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and long-term business retention.
- Market Expansion: Identify and pursue opportunities to expand the company's presence in new markets, while aligning with our strategic goals.
- Team Development: Support and guide the personal development of the sales team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with the Operations and Finance teams to ensure seamless service delivery and the development of customer-centric offerings.
- Strategy Ownership: Take full ownership of the company's sales strategy, ensuring alignment and active engagement from all team members.
- Commercial Opportunities: Proactively identify and seize profitable business opportunities, contributing directly to the company's revenue growth.
- Networking & Prospecting: Actively participate in networking events, trade shows, and direct outreach (e.g., door-to-door canvassing) to generate new business leads and partnerships.
- Company Representation: Represent the company at external events and within the marketplace, acting as an ambassador for the brand and its values.
- Performance Tracking: Monitor sales performance through regular reporting, setting KPIs and performance targets to drive continuous improvement.
Requirements:
- Proven track record of success in business development and sales, with experience closing deals and building a robust sales pipeline.
- Experience in pallet sales or groupage (LTL) is essential.
- Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to engage at all levels within a business.
- A proactive and solution-driven mindset, with a demonstrated ability to challenge the status quo and propose process improvements.
- Previous experience in sales leadership or as part of a high-performing sales team.
- Ability to work collaboratively with internal teams to ensure seamless service delivery and meet client expectations.
