We're currently seeking a passionate and dedicated Teacher of Science for a maternity cover position at a secondary school in Skelmersdale. Role Overview:As a Teacher of Science, you will be responsible for teaching KS3 science and supporting KS4 science classes. We are looking for an individual with strong behavioural management skills who can create an engaging and inclusive classroom environment. You will benefit from robust support from staff and leadership to help you succeed in this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging science lessons for KS3 students and support KS4 science classes.
  • Foster a positive learning environment that encourages student participation and curiosity.
  • Implement effective behaviour management strategies to maintain a focused classroom atmosphere.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure high-quality teaching and learning experiences.
  • Provide support and guidance to students, helping them reach their full potential.
  • Assess and report on student progress, adapting teaching methods as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Strong knowledge of the science curriculum at KS3 and KS4 levels.
  • Excellent classroom management skills and a commitment to student welfare.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with staff and contribute to a positive school culture.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 14.3% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
