Are you a dynamic Mechanical Engineer looking for your next progression opportunity?

We have an exciting role working for a bespoke machinery manufacturer who seek an enthusiastic engineer who they can continuw to train and develop under the one-to-one guidance.

This is a challenging, and interesting role in an innovative company delivering solutions to customers both UK and globally.

You will join a well-established, multi-disciplined team, working on initially on the company's standard product range, once up to speed you will then be given the opportunity to work on high value bespoke projects.

The day to day role of Mechanical Design Engineer will include:

  • Assisting with mechanical designs for automated special purpose machinery
  • Working in conjunction with the electrical and software teams to achieve successful system integration
  • Problem solving and dealing with design issues,
  • Undertaking mechanical and material calculations
  • Producing 2D and 3D SolidWorks drawings.
  • Ensuring specifications and quality standards and managing CE documentation
  • Producing and ensuring the quality of all mechanical BOM's and recording in PDM/PLM & ERP systems.
  • Creation of parts, assembly, and identification drawings
  • Supporting the shop floor with build problems

The ideal Mechanical Design Engineer will be:

  • Someone who lives and breathes engineering, is already working in mechanical design but looking for their next challenge
  • Passionate about design, practical with excellent problem solving abilities
  • A confident user of 3D software ideally SolidWorks
  • Apprenticed trained and hold HNC, HND or Degree qualified within Mechanical Engineer
  • Familiar with the R & D function including CAD design, documentation, prototyping, build and test
  • Have some knowledge of system integration
  • Ideally have previous design experience in sheet metal, welding fabrication or bespoke machinery design or similar
  • Have confident knowledge of design for manufacture
  • Be familiar with current CE directives and Standards
  • Ideally have experience of hand calculations or structural analysis software
  • Your own transport is essential due to location
