About The Company:
Our client is a dynamic, design-led architectural practice based in the picturesque village of Gargrave, North Yorkshire. They specialise in a diverse range of residential projects, including barn conversions, listed building renovations, house extensions, and new builds, with a strong emphasis on sustainability and quality design.
Position Overview:
The company are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Architectural Technician/Technologist to join the team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background and a keen eye for detail, with experience in working on a variety of residential projects from inception to completion.
Key Responsibilities but not limited to:
- Assist in the preparation and development of detailed technical drawings and specifications for construction projects.
- Collaborate with architects and other team members to ensure designs are technically feasible and meet regulatory standards.
- Conduct site visits and surveys to gather essential information for project development.
- Liaise with clients, contractors, and consultants to ensure smooth project delivery.
- Utilise CAD software and other relevant tools to produce accurate and high-quality technical documentation.
- Ensure compliance with building regulations and standards.
- Provide technical support and guidance throughout the construction process.
Qualifications:
- Degree or diploma in Architectural Technology or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role within an architectural practice.
- Proficiency in CAD software and other relevant design tools.
- Competent in Microsoft Office.
- Skilled in writing NBS specifications and technical detailing.
- Strong understanding of building regulations and British Standards.
- Knowledge of UK planning legislation.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Desirable:
- Professional registration with Charted Institute of Architectural Technologists.
- Living within commuting distance of Gargrave.
- A full UK driving licence and your own vehicle
