Ganymede Solutions are working with one of the largest UK Train Operating Companies (currently operating 464 stations, the most of any TOC in the UK), who are seeking to recruit a Train Cleaner to join the train cleaning team at Skipton Sidings. Ganymede Solutions are a stock market recognised recruitment agency, specialising in the transportation, infrastructure, construction and engineering sectors on both permanent and contract basis.

The company covers the whole of the North, which includes the Northeast & West of England, Yorkshire and the Humber, as well as the occasional part of the East Midlands and Staffordshire. As a result of this, they have a large fleet of trains – 333 to be precise, so it's safe to say you will be active & busy with your role!

Ganymede are looking to hire someone who is switched on, can take initiative and be an example to the rest of the team.

 

The Role:

The Train Cleaner role will cover all aspects of interior cleaning on the trains. You will be carrying out full cleans on the interior of the trains, which means you will be cleaning everything from the everything in view of the public eye on the train. The duties you will be carrying out will be:

• Wiping down surfaces

• Sanitizing touch points

• Hoovering

• Mopping

• Dusting

• Cleaning & restocking the toilets

 

Hours wise, it is an 20:00 - 06:00 night shift role, which operates on a 4on 4off/5on 4 off rota.

Pay Rate & Benefits:

The pay rate for the Train Cleaner position will be at £13.05 per hour on an initial 6-month basis.

Requirements:

• Be able to pass a Drugs & Alcohol test 

• Be able to pass a full railway medical – this will include, sight, hearing, colourisation, heart, lungs, brain, etc

• Be able to attend a week of training at Neville Hill Depot, starting on 24/02/2025

• Provide your Right to Work documents before deployment 

• Happy to help mentality/attitude 

• Must have a decent fitness, as you will be climbing up and down trains a lot
