This role is based in a modern 29-bed facility in Lincolnshire that provides acute mental health care and rehabilitation services. The hospital is dedicated to offering a therapeutic and safe environment for individuals on their recovery journey.In this role, you'll be part of a dynamic multi-disciplinary team, providing specialised care to patients with complex mental health needs.Key Details:

  • Job Title: Associate Specialist Psychiatrist
  • Location: Sleaford, Lincolnshire
  • Salary: £90,000 - £100,000 per annum (+ £250 starting bonus)
  • Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
  • Working Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with weekend availability

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualised care and treatment for patients with complex mental health disorders, working as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Participate in the on-call rota, ensuring medical coverage is available at all times.
  • Ensure a thorough handover of patient care to colleagues, including out-of-hours transitions.
  • Gather collateral history from other professionals and families to aid in comprehensive patient care.
  • Prepare and complete discharge letters, reports, and statutory s62 forms promptly.
  • Draft reports for First-tier Tribunal and Hospital Managers' hearings, under consultant supervision.
  • Depending on experience, provide oral evidence at tribunal and hospital manager hearings, also under consultant supervision.
  • Contribute to service development by participating in Clinical Governance activities, including audits, research, and teaching.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure continuous and appropriate medical cover for all patients.

Essential Criteria:

  • Full GMC Registration: You must hold a valid registration with the General Medical Council (GMC)
  • At least 3 Years' Experience in Psychiatry: A minimum of three years' experience working in psychiatry within multi-disciplinary teams
  • MRCPsych Qualification: Possession of the Membership of the Royal College of Psychiatrists (MRCPsych)
