Job description

Information about the Role:

Working as an Associate Specialist at Magna House your duties will include the following:

You will be working with a multi-professional team delivering individualised care and treatment of patients with complex mental health disorders.

You will be required to participate in the on-call rota.

Ensuring an adequate handover to colleagues including out of hours.

Seeking collateral history from other professionals and family.

Completing discharge letters / reports / s62 forms as required in a timely manner.

Preparing First-tier Tribunal and Hospital Managers' hearing reports under the supervision of consultant.

Depending on your experience, providing oral evidence at First-tier Tribunal and Hospital Managers' hearings under the supervision of the Consultant.

Contributing to the service development by participating in Clinical Governance activities by conducting audits, research and teaching.

Work effectively with colleagues to ensure that patients always have access to appropriate medical cover.

Information about the Service:

Magna House is an 29-bed hospital in Lincolnshire, providing acute care and treatment to people who are experiencing mental health issues.

Magna House provides recovery and rehabilitation services in a safe therapeutic environment in which the dedicated team will place each individual at the centre of all care planning and implementation. The desired outcome for all individuals referred and admitted to Magna House is to receive effective care to support the long-term stability of their mental health, and support them to fully transition back to community life, equipped with skills and appropriate medical plans to keep themselves safe and well.

Experience and qualifications:

Full GMC registration

Experience working in psychiatry within multi-disciplinary teams

To be in good standing with the Royal College of Psychiatrists

At least 3 years' experience in Psychiatry

Experience working as a doctor within similar environment

MRCPsych

Section 12 (2) approval

AC status
