We are a leading FMCG company based in Ruskington, dedicated to producing high-quality products that meet the ever-growing demands of our customers. As we continue to expand, we are looking for a proactive and experienced Maintenance Team Leader to join our engineering team. This is a key leadership role, where you will ensure the smooth operation of production equipment while leading a team of engineers.

Role Overview:

As the Maintenance Team Leader, you will be responsible for overseeing a team of engineers, ensuring that all maintenance activities are carried out efficiently and in line with production requirements. You will ensure the continuous reliability and performance of machinery and equipment, while managing both planned and reactive maintenance. Your leadership will be crucial in ensuring that our site operates at peak efficiency, minimizing downtime, and upholding the highest safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and supervise a team of engineers, providing guidance, coaching, and support.
  • Coordinate and manage planned preventative maintenance (PPM) activities to ensure all equipment runs at optimal performance.
  • Manage reactive maintenance, ensuring that any equipment faults or breakdowns are resolved quickly and efficiently.
  • Monitor and improve team performance, ensuring high standards of safety, quality, and efficiency are maintained.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting expertise to the team and production staff.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and implement best practices for safe working conditions.
  • Assist with training and development of team members to ensure continuous improvement and skills progression.
  • Ensure accurate and up-to-date documentation of all maintenance activities, including work orders and reports.
  • Work closely with production and engineering management to align maintenance activities with production schedules and objectives.

Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience in a maintenance leadership or supervisory role, ideally within an FMCG or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical knowledge with hands-on experience in fault finding and repair of automated machinery.
  • Experience with machinery including conveyors, packaging equipment, PLCs, and automated production systems.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate, develop, and support a team of engineers.
  • A solid understanding of health and safety regulations and best practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with a proactive approach to resolving issues.
  • Experience with shift work (4 on, 4 off) and flexibility to work both days and nights.
  • Relevant qualifications in Engineering (HNC, HND, NVQ, or equivalent).
