SEN Teaching Assistant

Location - Sleaford

Salary - £83.33 - £95.00 per day

Start - After October half term

 

Are you passionate about working with children in SEN and Primary school settings? Do you enjoy helping young learners reach their full potential?

We are working with SEN and Primary schools in Sleaford who are looking for Teaching Assistants to join them from October 2024. This role will initially be through our supply agency, either full-time or part-time, with the possibility of transitioning into a permanent position when opportunities arise.

Teaching Assistant Responsibilities:

  • Build positive and professional relationships with students, ensuring a supportive learning environment.
  • Tailor your support to meet the individual needs of each child, particularly those with special educational needs.
  • Assist with classroom activities led by the teacher and provide additional support wherever necessary.
  • Work closely with students who have special needs, ensuring their safety and supporting their engagement with the curriculum.
  • Provide feedback and guidance to students under the teacher’s direction, helping them progress academically and socially.

Qualifications and Experience Required:

  • GCSEs or equivalent are essential.
  • A-levels, Degree, or Master’s degree are desirable but not mandatory.
  • Experience working with children, whether in or outside of a school setting, or with vulnerable adults.
  • This role is also suitable for university students currently studying for a degree in a related field.
  • Experience in care or nursing is an advantage but not required.

Working with GSL Education:

  • You’ll work closely with Olivia Davey and/or Max Robertson, who will be your dedicated consultants, helping you find regular and suitable work.

  • We also offer work in Secondary schools, should you wish to expand your experience.

Please note that this role requires a solid understanding of safeguarding and child protection policies, and successful applicants must complete all necessary safer recruitment checks, including an enhanced DBS.
