GSL Education are striving to look for an SEN Support Worker in the picturesque town of Sleaford. Being involved in a supportive setting and giving crucial support to kids who need it most is a fulfilling opportunity.

As a SEN Support Worker, you will be assisting students with special educational needs, ensuring they receive the tailored support required to succeed. This position involves working closely with teachers and other support staff to implement personalised learning plans, providing one-on-one assistance

 and promoting a positive and inclusive classroom environment.

Responsibilities of the SEN Support Worker:

  • Offer dedicated support to students with special educational needs, adapting strategies to meet their unique learning requirements.
  • Work in partnership with teachers and other professionals to develop and implement effective Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Monitor and document student progress, providing regular feedback to teachers and suggesting necessary adjustments to support strategies.
  • Assist in managing classroom behaviour, employing appropriate techniques to foster a respectful and conducive learning environment.
  • Help prepare and organise educational materials and resources tailored to the needs of students with SEN.
  • Support the integration of students with SEN into mainstream classroom activities, promoting an inclusive educational experience.

Requirements of the SEN Support Worker:

  • Previous experience in a similar role, particularly in supporting children with special educational needs.
  • Relevant qualifications, including Level 2 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools, or equivalent.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, patient, empathetic and understanding approach to engaging with students, staff, and families.
  • A dedication to creating a welcoming and encouraging learning environment.
  • Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
