GSL Education are striving to look for a SEND Graduate in the picturesque town of Sleaford. Being involved in a supportive setting and giving crucial support to kids who need it most is a fulfilling opportunity.

As a SEND Graduate, you will be supporting students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). You will be assisting them, providing tailored support to help them achieve their academic and personal goals. This position involves working closely with teachers and other professionals to implement personalised learning strategies, ensuring an inclusive and supportive classroom environment.

Responsibilities of the SEND Graduate:

  • Provide focused assistance to students with SEND, helping them engage with the curriculum and succeed academically.
  • Work alongside teachers to develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to the specific needs of students.
  • Observe and document student progress, providing feedback to educators to inform necessary adjustments in support strategies.
  • Assist in promoting positive behaviour within the classroom, employing appropriate strategies to foster an inclusive learning environment.
  • Help prepare and organise educational materials and resources to support students with SEND effectively.
  • Facilitate the integration of SEND students into mainstream classroom activities, ensuring their participation and engagement.

Requirements of the SEND Graduate:

  • A degree in Education, Psychology, or a related field is essential.
  • Previous experience working with children or individuals with SEND is advantageous.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, patient, empathetic and understanding approach to engaging with students, staff, and families.
  • Excellent organisational abilities and the capacity to multitask effectively.
  • Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
