Job Overview:

Our client, a highly reputable and well-established firm based in Slough, is looking for an experienced Personal Tax Manager to join their dedicated tax team. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated tax professional with strong expertise in personal tax to take on a managerial role, where you will be responsible for overseeing a diverse portfolio of high-net-worth individuals, trusts, and estates. You will provide strategic advice, manage complex tax compliance, and lead a team while contributing to the firm's continued growth and success.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Personal Tax Compliance & Reporting: Manage the preparation and filing of personal tax returns for a portfolio of clients, including high-net-worth individuals, entrepreneurs, and trusts. Ensure compliance with UK tax laws and regulations, including income tax, capital gains tax, inheritance tax, and other relevant personal taxes.

  • Advisory & Planning: Provide comprehensive tax advisory services to clients, helping them optimize their tax position, mitigate risks, and plan for the future. Advise on issues such as tax-efficient investments, inheritance tax planning, trusts, estate planning, and other personal tax matters.

  • Client Management: Build and maintain strong, trusted relationships with clients, ensuring the delivery of high-quality and tailored tax solutions. Proactively identify opportunities to provide value-added services and support clients in achieving their financial goals.

  • Team Leadership & Development: Lead and mentor a team of junior tax professionals, providing guidance on technical matters and career development. Review work and manage workflow to ensure client deadlines are met efficiently.

  • Tax Reporting & Compliance: Oversee the preparation of tax provisions, manage risk, and ensure that clients comply with all relevant UK tax regulations. Manage tax audits and liaise with HMRC on behalf of clients when required.

  • Business Development: Contribute to the growth of the firm by identifying new business opportunities and expanding the client portfolio. Assist with marketing initiatives and develop relationships with potential clients.

Skills & Qualifications:
  • CTA/ACA/ACCA Qualification (or equivalent) with significant post-qualification experience in personal tax.
  • In-depth knowledge of UK personal tax law, including income tax, capital gains tax, inheritance tax, trusts, and estates.
  • Proven experience in managing a portfolio of personal tax clients and providing tax advisory services.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with clients and internal teams.
  • Leadership experience, including managing and developing a team.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
  • Proficient in using tax compliance software and MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Desirable:
  • Experience working with high-net-worth individuals, entrepreneurs, and trusts.
  • Strong understanding of international tax considerations and cross-border issues.
  • Experience with business development and generating new client leads.
