Join our team as an Accountant, where you will play a crucial role in ensuring our organisation’s financial health, compliance, and efficient operations. This position involves providing financial leadership across various areas including general accounting, financial planning, risk management, and more.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Prepare and approve financial reporting materials and metrics, including monthly Business Performance Reports, KPIs, Management Accounts, and annual financial reports.
  • Oversee budgeting and the implementation of budgets to monitor efficient spending and implement timely corrective actions as necessary.
  • Ensure financial records and systems comply with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and Charity reporting requirements.
  • Maintain compliance with organisational policies and procedures, ensuring a robust controls environment.
  • Manage cash flow and exchange risk, including proactive working capital management and accurate cash forecasting.
  • Direct all financial, project-based, and departmental accounting.
  • Evaluate business processes, recommend, and implement improvements.
  • Monitor bills, invoicing, donations, and other transactions.
  • Handle various donation platforms and process purchase orders and bills.
  • Complete and check bank reconciliations and monitor restricted fund movements.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in financial management and accounting within a similar role.
  • Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and Charity reporting requirements.
  • Experience with financial reporting, budgeting, and compliance.
  • Proficient in using financial management software like XERO.
  • Excellent organisational and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across departmental functions.
