Air Import Supervisor - Freight Forwarding

Location: Colnbrook SL3

Job Type: Full-Time (office based 9/6pm Mon-Fri)

Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced UK Air Import Supervisor or Manager (from Freight Forwarding) to lead our clients import operations team in Colnbrook (4 people). The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of air import operations, including customs clearance, staff management, and inbound operational efficiency.

Role Purpose and Key Responsibilities

The core purpose of this role is to manage and lead a team of 4 , which will include organising day to day activities including, CDS Entries, Duty Reclaims, Underpayments, Post Entry Amendments, staff management, advising existing customers for Customs Compliance, Import Airfreight quotations. • Management responsibilities • Air & Sea-freight Customs Clearance • Creation and management of ERTS compliance records. • Inventory Controls. • Liaising with Border Force and other regulatory bodies. • Liaise with airlines / airport handlers in a professional manner in order to meet operational requirements and maintain up-to-date schedule information and shipment status reports • Ensure all quality controls procedures are updated and adhered to • Audits/ TIB Checks /Compliance. • Duty & VAT Reclaims • Customer queries and question. • Raise any issues or concerns with colleagues or line manager regarding imports • Ad hoc duties. (Filing / Drop documents to Customs)

About You

• Team management experience. • Knowledge of CDS for customs purposes is ESSENTIAL • Knowledge of different types of imports is required (eg: bonded warehouse, IPR, TIB, etc) • Detail-oriented • Problem solving skills • Able to multitask and highly organised. • Motivation and determination to succeed. • Able to work in a busy office environment, or work on your own. • Clear and confident communicator, both verbally and written. • A flexible/adaptable approach to work. • Self-starter, able to work with minimal supervision.
