An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Quality Engineer to join a well-established aviation company. You will assist in managing and controlling the Quality System in compliance with UK CAA Part 145, EASA Part 145, FAA Part 145, EN 9110, EN 9120, ISO 17025, and Safety Management System requirements. The role focuses on product quality/safety, quality assurance activities, audits, and supporting the organisation's Quality and Safety Management Systems.
You will collaborate across teams to ensure compliance with industry standards and customer requirements.
Main Responsibilities:
Technical Library Management:
Monthly review of technical data issued by major OEMs.
Auditing OEM technical data (CMMs, IPCs, service bulletins, service letters, etc.) to ensure currency.
Obtaining and managing OEM technical data as needed.
Controlling technical data through the ERP system and technical library.
Warranty Investigations:
Assessing warranty claims and validating units received based on handling history.
Communicating outcomes and justifications for warranty acceptance or rejection to customers.
Auditing:
Managing the internal audit plan, including product, process, and safety audits.
Conducting audits against regulatory standards: CAA/EASA/FAA Part 145, EN 9110, EN 9120, ISO 17025.
Managing audit findings to closure and verifying corrective actions.
Supporting external audits by airworthiness authorities, certification bodies, and customers.
Corrective Actions:
Raising and managing corrective actions from customer feedback or nonconforming products.
Collaborating with department managers to define and close corrective actions.
Verifying the effectiveness of corrective measures.
Vendor Management:
Managing the approved vendor list, including onboarding and performance monitoring.
Handling nonconforming products and vendor corrective actions.
Monitoring KPIs related to vendor performance.
Requirements:
Certified QMS/Airworthiness Auditor.
Experience in MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul) within the aviation industry.
Minimum 3 years' experience in a quality engineering or similar role.
Familiarity with quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001, Six Sigma) and tools (e.g., FMEA, SPC) is desirable.
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
