- Maintain accurate financial records, including sales and purchase ledgers.
- Process invoices, expenses, and payments efficiently.
- Conduct bank reconciliations and ensure accounts are kept up to date.
- Manage VAT returns and ensure compliance with HMRC regulations.
- Assist with payroll processing and employee expense claims.
- Produce monthly financial reports for management.
- Liaise with external accountants and auditors as required.
- Monitor cash flow, prepare budgets, and manage financial forecasts.
- Handle credit control to ensure timely client payments.
- Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar financial role.
- Strong knowledge of accounting software such as Sage.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping.
- Strong understanding of VAT returns and HMRC regulations.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel with advanced spreadsheet skills.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- AAT qualification (or equivalent) preferred but not essential if experience is extensive.
