Carbon 60 is looking to recruit a Sous Chef for its leading Facilities Management clients based in Slough

This is a permanent position, starting immediately, paying a salary of £42000pa

Working hours are 7.00am to 3.00pm Monday to Friday with the opportunity for some overtime

About the Role

Assisting the Head Chef with effectively leading the kitchen team in delivering all areas of service, ensuring the efficient running of all kitchens.

This position will directly oversee the associate's restaurant, and kitchen event operations including banquets, hospitality, and fine dining dinners.

The Sous chef will ensure the highest standards of food quality, presentation, and service, while supporting the development and success of the culinary team alongside working closely with other departments contributing to the overall success of the business.

This would be an ideal role for a very experienced Sous Chef looking to progress their career and step into a Head Chefs role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate great craft skills and share those skills with the junior members of the team
  • Demonstrate your ability to make good decisions based on analysing situations at the point in time and that prevent risk to customers
  • Ensure processes, procedures and best practices are maintained and have a good knowledge of food hygiene policies and procedures
  • Ensure the team constantly deliver the best possible service to our guests.
  • Support with all training for the team.
  • Drive the performance of compliance.
  • Encourage the team to embrace technology using DRIVE Recipe Planning System
  • Strive for the constant development of all team members by allocation of duties, additional projects and the allocation of responsibility.
  • Develop a departmental succession plan and ensure team members are working to their personal and professional goals.

About you

  • Demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion through continuous development, modelling inclusive behaviours.
  • Ability to interact with the management team and contribute at team meetings as you will be a key member of the food team
  • Proven experience of designing menus for large scale banquets, reflecting the highest restaurant standard.
