We are working with a medium forwarder who are looking to recruit a Commercial Sales Coordinator - Logistics experience.
As the Commercial Sales Coordinator the role involves supporting sales activities, managing key accounts, gathering market intelligence, and driving strategic initiatives to enhance our client’s competitive position.
Reporting directly to the Head of Commercial, you will work closely with all departments to develop new business, manage existing customers, and contribute to marketing campaigns and product launches.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Customer Engagement
- Provide dedicated support to the head of Commercial and actively strengthen relationships with existing accounts.
- Proactively identify new business opportunities and develop a strong prospect pipeline.
- Assist in designing and executing marketing campaigns to promote company services, including targeted rate promotions.
- Work closely with the Head of Commercial to construct competitive contract rates with carriers (airlines, hauliers, etc.), ensuring customer rate cards are updated and well-managed.
Market Intelligence & Strategy
- Gather and analyse market intelligence on customers, suppliers, competitors, products, tariffs, and services.
- Provide valuable insights and recommendations to the Senior Management Team (SMT) for new service developments and revenue generation initiatives.
- Collaborate with internal teams to meet KPI targets and enhance overall business efficiency.
Sales Administration & Reporting
- Maintain an accurate and organised client database, aligning with the company’s strategic sales roadmap.
- Produce detailed reports and analytics on sales activity, including revenue projections and customer trends.
- Regularly review targets with the Head of Commercial and support action plans.
- Participate in quality assurance (QA) reviews of service delivery and customer satisfaction.
Experience Needed.
- 2+ years’ experience in sales, account management, or commercial administration within a multicultural environment.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with confidence in critical decision-making.
- Industry knowledge in logistics, e-commerce, and cross-border trade, with an understanding of import/export and brokerage processes.
- Proven ability to work independently and proactively manage schedules.
- Excellent attention to detail, strong presentation skills and customer focused.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and CRM/reporting tools.
- Ability to navigate and utilise proprietary company software for customer and sales management.
Preferred:
- Existing client contacts within the industry (highly advantageous).
- Prior experience managing global e-commerce/cross-border accounts.
- Market knowledge of North/South Africa, the Far East, the USA, and the Middle East.
- Experience across multiple product categories.
- Ability to commute (own transport preferred).

Working Hours
Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Holiday Entitlement
21 days (excluding Bank Holidays), with an increase of one day after two years of employment. Incrementally +1 day/year thereafter.
