Senior Highway Engineer

Are you ready to advance your career as a Senior Highways Engineer? An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a dynamic and growing highways team within a leading multi-disciplinary consultancy. This role is perfect for someone passionate about delivering innovative, sustainable, and safe designs while mentoring the next generation of engineers.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the design and assessment of a variety of highways projects, liaising with clients, and leading the technical development of junior engineers. Reporting directly to the Associate/Associate Director of Highways, this is an opportunity to take ownership of project delivery while contributing to the growth and success of the team.

Key Responsibilities:

路Develop and deliver concept, preliminary, and detailed highway designs.
路Prepare calculations, technical reports, and oversee drawing checks.
路Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior colleagues.
路Develop project task budgets and programmes to achieve delivery targets.
路Attend client meetings and liaise with stakeholders to ensure project success.
路Undertake site visits, inspections, and investigations as needed.
路Actively contribute to implementing CDM duties on projects.
路Communicate effectively with the design team, clients, and contractors.

Requirements of the role:

路Significant experience in a design team environment.
路Master's degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent) and working towards professional qualification.
路Strong knowledge of DMRB design standards.
路Proven experience in leading teams and providing technical oversight.
路Business development skills, including fee estimation and proposal preparation.
路Proficiency in 2D CAD and Civils 3D design software.
路Sound knowledge of financial management and experience managing multiple projects.
路Strong commercial and contractual acumen.
路Comprehensive understanding of Health & Safety requirements and CDM duties.
