Are you a Civil Design Engineer experienced in designing clean water and/or wastewater networks, working on AMP projects on behalf of water utility companies?
The business we are working with has recently secured a substantial increase in workload with multiple water utility companies in the South East thanks to the upcoming AMP8 period.
They are looking for two Engineers (1x Clean Water Bias, the other Wastewater Bias) to support the detailed design requirements for their new workload.
The role falls outside IR35/LTD company engagement.
About the Business
The business has grown significantly over AMP7, securing more substantial contracts as a direct design partner and outsourced design business. They focus solely on civil design for the infrastructure sectors and have a growing team of Engineers and Draughtsman/CAD support based out of Slough for their clients.
You'll be joining an established and organised team who are experienced in water utility and network design. They ensure a focus on efficiency and sustainability, building long-lasting solutions for their clients to support the ever-increasing challenges presented by the water/wastewater industry.
Key Responsibilities
·Develop detailed designs for water distribution networks, including pipelines and connections to reservoirs, pumping stations, and WTW/WWTWs, ensuring compliance with industry standards and client requirements.
·Prepare design calculations, technical drawings, and specifications using software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or MicroDrainage.
·Conduct feasibility studies, site investigations, and risk assessments.
·Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate civil, structural, and environmental aspects into water network designs.
·Liaise with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory authorities to gather requirements and ensure project alignment.
·Provide technical support during construction, including reviewing contractor designs, responding to RFIs, and conducting site visits.
·Ensure all designs meet health and safety, quality, and environmental standards.
·Prepare technical reports, presentations, and documentation for project submissions.
Key Requirements
·A degree in Civil Engineering.
·two-five years of experience in water/wastewater infrastructure network design.
·Proven experience in the design of clean water and/or wastewater networks and infrastructure projects.
·Experience with design tools such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and GIS mapping software.
·Familiarity with relevant standards and regulations, including Water Industry Specifications (WIS) and British Standards.
·Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
·Ability to manage multiple projects and deliver high-quality work within deadlines.
·Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with clients and stakeholders.
