We are seeking a dedicated School Site Manager to join our team. This role is crucial for ensuring the effective management and maintenance of our school premises, promoting our vision, values, and ethos, and ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for our pupils and staff.

Day-to-day of the role:

Premises Management:

  • Oversee the daily maintenance, repair, and cleaning of the school premises.
  • Manage budgets related to maintenance, repairs, and materials.
  • Supervise repairs and act as project manager for maintenance contracts.
  • Ensure the school site is secure, clean, safe, and well-maintained.
  • Conduct regular checks and inspections of premises, equipment, and grounds.
  • Manage external contractors, ensuring security and maintenance standards are met.
  • Facilitate the effective use of school premises for school functions and external lettings.

Health and Safety:

  • Lead on compliance with health and safety legislation and school policies.
  • Develop and maintain a positive health and safety culture.
  • Conduct regular health and safety tours, risk assessments, and produce improvement reports.
  • Manage risks appropriately and maintain essential health and safety records.
  • Stay updated on health and safety legislation and ensure the school's compliance.

General:

  • Maintain operational systems such as heating, water, and electrical supplies.
  • Ensure the cleanliness and safety of school entrances and common areas.
  • Manage routine maintenance checks and respond to IT issues.
  • Oversee the maintenance of school vehicles and ensure they are roadworthy.

Administration:

  • Maintain accurate records of the school’s equipment and inventory.
  • Manage stock levels and order necessary maintenance supplies.
  • Keep detailed logs of inspections, repairs, and maintenance activities.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in facilities management or a similar role, preferably within an educational setting.
  • Strong understanding of health and safety regulations.
  • Excellent organisational and leadership skills.
  • Ability to manage budgets and resources effectively.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Competence in handling and overseeing repairs and maintenance works.
