I am working with a large UK personal lines insurer who are seeking a Lead Actuarial Data Engineer to join a high performing team. This individual will be supporting mainly the Reserving/Pricing team alongside Finance, UW and Data. This hire will be deputising the team lead and help mentor junior analysts.This role is largely remote with a requirement to come in 1 day per month in the office situated just outside of London.Responsibilities:
  • Led the automation and streamlining of data flows using Power Query, SQL, and SSIS.
  • Worked closely with reserving actuaries to redesign and sustain data processes, enhancing actuarial reserving models and aiding in their development.
  • Established best practices for data extraction, storage, reconciliation, and change management while mentoring junior members of the Actuarial Data and BI team.
  • Managed ongoing communication with external stakeholders and addressed ad hoc queries and analyses from actuarial, underwriting, finance, and risk teams.
Requirments:
  • Relevant experience within the financial services sector, preferably Insurance.
  • Proven expertise in developing data solutions using SQL Server, SSIS, Power BI, and Power Query.
  • Strong background in managing and implementing change initiatives.
  • Proficient in advanced SQL.
